Statement on COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) Outbreak
In light of the growing concerns around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and subsequent travel bans imposed by numerous districts, the CACCRAO Executive Board has made the decision to cancel the 2020 CACCRAO Annual Conference to protect the health and well-being of our colleagues, partners and overall community.
We will be issuing refunds for all paid conference registration, but attendees will need to cancel their own hotel and travel reservations. We regret having to take this extreme measure, we know the annual conference provides great value and professional development opportunities. In light of all these developments and out of concern for the health and safety of meeting attendees, the decision to cancel was not made lightly.
Per provisions of our constitution, we will still be holding our annual business meeting via webinar, more information will follow.

Q: How will registration refunds be processed?
A: Yes, registration refunds will be available as soon as we have a process in place. If you have previously cancelled, or requested a cancellation, you will be fully refunded. We are estimating 6-8 weeks for refunds. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we finalize logistics. We will communicate updates via email as they are available.
Q: If I registered, but already sent my check what should I do?
A: We will cancel your registration and return the check to you.
Q: Why the cancellation?
The health and well-being of our attendees and vendor partners is always our top priority. Given the current concern with the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and its impact on our ability to ensure a high quality conference experience, the CACCRAO Board have decided to cancel the 2020 CACCRAO Annual Conference. We apologize for any inconvenience as we truly hoped that we could continue to hold the conference.
Q: Will CACCRAO hold a virtual conference in place of the in-person conference this year?
A: At this time, we are only planning on holding the Annual Business Meeting via webinar. More details to follow.
What about my hotel reservation in Sacramento?
A: Hyatt will be cancelling hotel reservations and issuing refunds if applicable. The hotel will be contacting you using the email address provided. If you made your reservation at another hotel, you will need to cancel your reservations there separately.
Q: What about other travel reimbursements?
A: Please note that we are unable to provide refunds for travel expenses and it will be up to each individual to contact their travel providers. In terms of air travel, many airlines are now offering flight waivers for specific travel dates and destinations.
Q: Will vendors be refunded for booth space/sponsorship?
A: CACCRAO vendors will be contacted directly with further information.
