Robert Brown Distinguished Service Award
Throughout its history, the California Association of Community College Registrars and Admissions Officers has provided admissions, registration and related services to the students of the community colleges throughout the State. In so doing, CACCRAO has encouraged the development of policies that reflect the needs of students with diverse educational backgrounds. CACCRAO is responsive to the needs of students, institutions and its members. To recognize our outstanding contributions on behalf of students, our member colleges and our profession, the Robert Brown Distinguished Service Award is presented each year at the annual conference.
The CACCRAO “Robert Brown Distinguished Service Award” has been established to recognize the outstanding contributions by individual members to further the profession of Admissions and Records in the California Community Colleges. Bob Brown was instrumental in establishing the openness and collegiality that embody the CACCRAO philosophy. He exemplified the spirit of sharing that characterizes our association.
Criteria
The Robert Brown Distinguished Service award is the symbol of commitment to leadership, innovation and professional standards in the field of Admissions and Records
The award is presented annually by CACCRAO to a current or past member who has dedicated significant time and energy to further the purposes and goals of the Association.
The Past Presidents of CACCRAO and the current Executive Board make the selection, and the award is presented at the CACCRAO Annual Conference.
Nominees must meet the following selection criteria:
- Must be or have been an active member of CACCRAO;
- Made significant contributions to the field of Admissions
and Records in one or more of the following areas:
- Furthered the professional standards of the Association;
- Represented CACCRAO in the most distinguished manner in relationships with colleagues, the Chancellor’s Office, or other members of the community college system; and/or
- Encouraged innovation in standards of work and/or representation or communication with other professional associations.
