2012 Annual Conference
The 2011-12 Executive Board extends an invitation to you and our many student services colleagues to attend the 35th Annual CACCRAO Conference, April 29 - May 2 at the Sacramento Holiday Inn.
The Holiday Inn is centered in a great location near Old Town Sacramento with access to a variety of restaurants and historic buildings including the State Capital. As well, the hotel is adjacent to the Westfield Shopping Mall.
Even 150 years after the California Gold Rush, visitors are still discovering gold in Sacramento. In the decades since fortune hunters flocked to the region in search of the highly sought after metal, Sacramento has emerged into a cosmopolitan state capital that still retains its unique Gold Rush history. Today you can still experience much of the City’s history in Old Town Sacramento. Old Town still has dirt and cobblestone streets flanked with wide wooden sidewalks and “Bonanza” style buildings. You can tour the area in a horse drawn carriage and you can also take a ride on Mississippi style riverboats. There are numerous tourist shops, art museums and a great Train Museum. As well, you can tour the near-by State Capitol Building and also visit some historic Victorian mansions such as the Leland Stanford Home and the former Governor’s Mansion.
The 2012 CACCRAO Conference is the place to be. Mark your calendars and plan to join us in Sacramento for this informational and exciting event!
